Lost Ark Launch Event Will See Streamers Racing To Unlock Twitch Drops
Lost Ark, the free-to-play Korean MMO from Smilegate that is finally coming to the West courtesy of Amazon, is kicking off the game’s launch with a Twitch event that will let viewers score some free loot–should streamers be up to the task.
Called Legends of Lost Ark, the event will pit three teams of 20 streamers against one another as they race to complete various challenges that are worth a certain amount of points. At certain thresholds, each team will unlock Twitch drops that viewers can claim as in-game rewards. Viewers will need to have activated Twitch Drops for their Lost Ark account to claim the drops. The drops will be claimable from February 8 to February 28, and viewers can track each team’s progress via a leaderboard.

Legend Of Zelda Is "Dying For A Cinematic Treatment," Director Says
Nintendo is teaming up with Sony and Marvel producer Avi Arad for a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. Director Wes Ball recently told Variety that Zelda is one of the last “untapped properties” that is ripe for a movie and that he’s excited to get to work on the film.
“I can’t say a lot about it, but Zelda is hugely important to me. It’s up there with Star Wars for me in terms of what shaped me as a kid,” Ball said. “Talking about adventure? That’s the thing. It’s like one of the last untapped properties that is dying for a cinematic treatment. But we’ll see what happens.”
Zelda has a dedicated and passionate fanbase, and Ball knows something about that having previously directed the Maze Runner movies. He said he got a “taste” of the “expectation game” with those films, and now he’s feeling it again directing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Guilty Gear Strive is, like so many of its predecessors, the pinnacle of a certain kind of fighting game. The series, known for its highly technical (read: complicated) set of systems, rewards players for investing time to master both its universal systems and the nuances of its individual characters in a way that few other series have. Strive maintains that tradition and throws in a couple new ideas that bolster its bold anime-inspired flash without making the game any harder to learn. While the core fighting experience has only improved, many of the game’s less savory tendencies remain in place, including its non-playable story “mode” and yet another set of kludgy Arc System Works-style avatar-based matchmaking menus. As in most fighting games, those problems are secondary: Players, particularly veterans, who want to put in work will find Guilty Gear Strive to be a wild time.
